Wildlife, Travel & Landscape Photographer currently based in Orange County, NY.
Welcome to my website! I am thrilled to be able to share my love for wildlife and beautiful landscapes, from different areas of the world, with you. My name is Aaron Howard and this is my journey through nature with my camera and a lens.
In 2018, after watching countless Peter McKinnon YouTube videos, I bought my first DSLR. A few months later my father and I took a trip out to Colorado. We stayed in the mountains of Breckenridge and ventured out taking landscape photos all over. I learned my camera so fast it was time to upgrade. I purchased my first pro-level camera and a couple of pro lenses. As soon as I learned what long exposure was, I felt obligated to cross “Witness the Northern Lights” off my bucket list.
In November 2019, a group of 6 of us, boarded an Icelandair airplane headed to Reykjavík, Iceland. Not only did I cross the Northern Lights off my bucket list, but we experienced some of the most beautiful landscapes as well. Heading home from Iceland, I was already planning my next trip with my dad.
In January 2020, only 2 months after coming home from Iceland, my father and I ventured off to Alaska. Chasing the Northern Lights and where he got me into wildlife photography. Prior to leaving, my dad suggested I buy a super-telephoto lens for the wildlife we may come across. Not knowing wildlife photography, I learned it while there and I was still able to come home with incredible Bald Eagle and Moose photos as well as landscapes. Coming home I was hooked on wildlife photography.
Not long after being home we were already planning the next big trip. This time mostly for wildlife. January 2021, we headed out to Yellowstone National Park. Seeing so much wildlife in their natural habitat is incredible. This is the trip that had me all in on wildlife photography. Seeing all sorts of wildlife from Golden Eagles to Wolves and meeting so many dedicated photographers made the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, one of my absolute favorite places to be. In the fall of 2022, I spent over 3 weeks in Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks, just for wildlife photography and exploring. In 2023 I will be spending my 30th birthday there!
